Candidate's Forum
 
   
     
The Government Affairs (GA) Council will focus on issues related to government at all levels such as events, tax information, policies, and other issues that directly impact businesses in Tustin. The Council will also monitor information about legislation at all levels of government that may benefit or negatively impact businesses in the city.

Governmental Affairs
Council meetings.

 

 
   
  Roles of the Government Council include:  
 
  • Raising awareness among the Tustin Chamber of Commerce membership of the effects of government action on the well-being of the Tustin area communities and businesses.
  • Meeting with representatives from city, county, state, and federal government agencies.
  • Investigating legislation and actions and making recommendations to the Board of Directors to support or oppose legislation.
  • Making recommendations to the Board to support or oppose legislation and drafting Board-approved letters to legislators.
  • Providing information to members on pending legislation as appropriate.
  • Sponsoring a City Council Candidate Forum during election years.
  • Hosting the annual State of the City Luncheon.
  • Hosting community-wide Legislative coffees open houses.
 
     
  The Council regularly meets on the last Wednesday of the month, 7:30 a.m. in the Chamber Board Room.  
     
  Legislative Sub-Committee meets the Thursday before the G.A. Council meeting, 7:30 am in the Chamber Board Room.
